Situation
Start from a standing position (facing 12:00H) with your left arm at your side (toward 6:00V) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a two-hand grab to your left forearm and wrist area.
1)
Step forward (toward 11:00H) with your left foot into a left transitory neutral bow (toward 12:00H) (stable base) with a left hammering inside vertical forearm strike (toward 4:30V) to the top of the opponent’s right forearm area (minor). Without any loss of motion, settle (toward 6:00V) into a left neutral bow (toward 12:00H) with a left thrusting vertical punch (toward 1:30V) to the opponent’s face area (minor), while simultaneously (opposing forces) drawing your right arm to a right chambered position (positioned cock), palm up (toward 12:00V), in preparation for the next move.
Note
The step of your left foot should be to the outside, but not beyond the heel of the opponent’s right foot.
The above series of moves with the left arm is sometimes referred to as a blocking punch, even though technically it is a striking punch.
Result
The opponent’s upper body and head should be forced back (toward 12:00H) with the grab to you right wrist being broken by the opposing forces of the left punch and the cocking of your right arm. The opponent should now begin to attempt to cover the face area with both hands.
2)
Immediately, shift (counter clockwise H) forward into a left forward bow (toward 12:00H) with thrusting straight right vertical punch (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s solar plexus area (major), while simultaneously retracting your left arm diagonally down (toward 4:30V) and toward you (toward 6:00H) horizontally across your body (positioned cock), stomach high, in preparation for the next move.
Note
The retraction of your left arm should be done such as to create a frictional pull across the top of both of the opponent’s arms (pressing check) toward you (toward 6:00H), accentuating the power of the right punch (borrowed force).
Your right punching arm should pass on top of your left retracting arm.
Result
The opponent’s upper body should begin to bend slightly forward (toward 6:00H) with both hands beginning to attempt to cover the solar plexus area, but prevented from doing so by your left arm (detaining check).
3)
Immediately, deliver a thrusting right rising (toward 10:30V) knee kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s groin area with a thrusting left outward hand-sword (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s throat (minor), while simultaneously drawing (toward 6:00H) your right fist to a right chambered position, palm up (toward 12:00V), in preparation for the next move.
Result
The opponent’s body should be thrust back (toward 12:00H), immobilized and prevented from bending by the simultaneous high and low strikes.
4)
Without any loss of motion from the previous moves, step through forward (toward 12:00H) (positioned cover) into a right neutral bow (toward 12:00H) with a thrusting right heel-palm to the opponent’s face area, while simultaneously retracting (toward 6:00H) your left open hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 12:00H).
Result
The opponent’ upper body and head should be thrust back (toward 12:00H) and collapse to the ground, face up (toward 12:00V).
5)
Cross out and cover (toward 4:30H).
