Situation
You are in a standard right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a right thrusting, step-through, front kick (toward 6:00H) to your groin area, followed immediately by a right, thrusting, vertical punch to your face area.
1a)
Step your right foot backward (toward 6:00H) into a left front twist (facing 12:00H) with a right downward parry (toward 4:30H), palm facing you (toward 9:00V), to the outside of the opponent's right lower leg (counter clockwise V) (positioned cock).
Result
The opponent's kick should be diverted to your right-rear flank (toward 4:30H) (close center line).
1b)
Timed to the opponent’s punch, execute a left inward parry (toward 4:30H), palm facing to your right (toward 3:00V), to the outside of the opponent’s arm, making contact between the elbow and wrist, while maintaining your other defenses (positional cover).
Result
The opponent's punch should be diverted to your right-rear flank (toward 4:30H).
1c)
Without any loss of motion, loop (clockwise V) your right hand forward and then backward (toward 6:00V) executing a left inward parry (toward 4:30H), palm to your right (toward 3:00V) to the outside of the opponent’s right arm, making contact between the shoulder and the elbow, while maintaining your other defenses (positional cover).
Result
The opponent’s right arm should now be safely controlled by your right hand (pressing check).
1d)
Continuing without any loss of motion, step your right foot forward (toward 12:00H) into a transitory right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with the delivery of a right outward parry (toward 4:30H), palm facing you (toward 9:00V) to the outside of the opponent’s right shoulder, while maintaining your other defenses (positional cover).
Result
The opponent should be prevented from spinning (clockwise H), thus following you as you slip behind them, by your right hand (detaining check).
1e)
Continuing without any loss of motion, step your left foot forward (toward 11:00H) into a left transitory forward bow (toward 11:00H) (facing 3:00H) with the retraction of both your arms (toward 9:00H) (toward 7:30V) to a left chambered position (cup and saucer), left palm up (toward 12:00V) and right palm down (toward 6:00V), in preparation for the next move.
Optional
With the step of your left foot and the retraction of your arms, you may wish to execute a right inward (toward 9:00H), vertical, two-finger hook, palm facing you (toward 9:00H), to the opponent’s right eye (minor).
1f)
Continuing without any loss of motion, rotate (clockwise H) to your right, into a right modified neutral bow (facing 3:00H) with the execution of a right, thrusting outward back-knuckle (toward 3:00H), palm facing you (toward 9:00H), to the back of the opponent’s right kidney (major), while simultaneously delivering a left, thrusting, vertical punch, palm facing to your right (toward 6:00H), to the opponent’s upper spine area (major).
Result
The opponent’s entire body should be forced slightly forward (toward 3:00H), but maintaining a vertical standing position.
2)
Raise your left hand to grab the opponent’s hair, palm down (toward 6:00V), then immediately pull their head backward, toward you (toward 3:00H) (toward 6:00V), simultaneously with a right, thrusting, upward punch to the bottom of the opponent’s head area (major).
Note
Your right punch should track (contour) up the opponent’s spine to help guide you to your target.
Optional
If your opponent doesn’t have hair that can be grabbed, you may need to place your fingers in their eye sockets, using the same hand alignment, thus creating the same net effect.
If the opponent turns their head over their right should to watch you, you may need to convert the alignment of your grab to across the opponent’s head, placing your fingers on the opponent’s left temple, thus changing your pull to force the opponent’s head to be bent sideways, exposing their right temple to your upward punch.
Result
The opponent’s head should be sandwiched between your hands, preventing it from moving, but they should begin to raise their hands to cover their head area.
3)
Drop your right hand (toward 6:00V), palm up (toward 12:00V), down the opponent’s right side (contour), forcing their right arm to extend at their right side (toward 6:00V) (frictional pull), then immediately converting your motion into an upward (toward 12:00V), inward (toward 12:00H) arc delivering a right, inward, vertical, two-finger poke, palm facing you (toward 9:00H), to the opponent’s right eye (minor), while maintaining your grab to the opponent’s hair.
Result
The opponent’s upper body and head should be forced to bend slightly to their right (toward 6:00H) by the downward pull of your right arm, exposing their face, but then halted by the poke to their eye. The entire motion should be controlled by your grab to the opponent’s hair.
4)
Step your left foot to your right (toward 4:30H) into a left reverse twist (toward 4:30H) (facing 12:00H), sweeping your opponent’s right leg (at ankle height) with your step, while simultaneously looping (counter clockwise V) your left hand under (toward 6:00V) and then to the outside (toward 12:00H) or your right arm to deliver a left, outward, vertical, two-finger poke, palm facing away from you (toward 12:00H), to the opponent’s left eye (minor).
Note
The eye poke should be synced with the timing of your step such that the contact to the opponent’s eye occurs at the same time as you settle into your stance.
Your left arm should remain in place as a guide (contour) for your left hand to track (weave) the outside of your left arm, to aid in the delivery of your left poke. Also, this approach prevents the opponent from seeing the delivery of your left poke (object obscurity).
Result
The opponent’s leg should be forced to step forward (toward 4:30H) by your sweep, forcing the entire body to move in the same direction (destabilize base) in order to maintain balance, until the head’s forward momentum is halted by your left poke (borrowed force).
5)
Unwind your stance (clockwise H) into a transitory, modified, right neutral bow (toward 11:00H) (facing 12:00H) with a right outward back-knuckle, palm facing to your left (toward 10:00H), to the opponent’s right kidney (major), while simultaneously shifting (clockwise H) your right open hand to your right shoulder, palm forward (toward 1:00H). Continuing your momentum, deliver a right sweep (toward 4:30H) to the back of the opponent’s right leg, ending in a left forward bow (facing 11:00H), while simultaneously maintaining your other defenses (positional cover).
Note
Your sweep should be delivered such that your right back-of-knee meets the opponent’s right back-of-knee with your leg slightly bent, and then your leg straightens as the sweep is executed, thus increasing the destabilizing effect and power of the sweep.
Result
The opponent’s stance should be fully destabilized forcing the opponent to fall (toward 6:00V) to the ground, face up (on a 10:30H – 4:30H line), directly in front of your left foot.
6)
Deliver a right, thrusting, front kick (toward 10:30H), ball of your foot forward (toward 9:00V) (toward 10:30H), to the bottom of the opponent’s chin (major). Using the retraction (toward 4:30H) of your right foot, hop-switch your stance to deliver a left, downward (toward 7:30V), diagonal stomping side kick (toward 10:30H), toes to your right (toward 1:00H), to the opponent’s face (major), while maintain your other defenses (positional cover).
Note
The delivery of side kick should be executed such that its effect is enhanced by the settle onto your right foot (confluence of forces).
Tip
The hop-switch should be used to adjust any distance (distance gauge) and/or angle between you and the opponent enough to ensure the effectiveness of the side kick.
Result
The opponent’s head should be prevented from moving very much by the ground, thus creating a vice-like effect for both of your kicks. But, depending upon the forces and angles of the kicks and the opponent’s head, the opponent’s neck may be elongated (toward 10:30H) to the point of breaking and/or the head by be crushed between the ground and your foot.
7)
Without replanting your left foot from the side kick, cross-out and cover (toward 4:30H).
