Situation
You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V), while the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executes a right step through (toward 6:00H) with a right straight thrust punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area.
1a)
Step backward (toward 7:30H) with your left foot into a right transitory 45 degree cat (facing 12:00H) (off the line of attack) with a left inward parry (toward 5:30H) to the outside of the opponent’s right arm, while simultaneously moving your right arm across your body (toward 9:00H) (positioned cover), palm facing you (toward 6:00H), in preparation for the next move.
Note
The movement of your right arm should resemble a right inside downward block, palm down.
1b)
Without any loss of motion, step forward (toward 12:30H) with your right foot into a right neutral bow (facing 12:30H) with a right vertical back-knuckle thrust (major) to the opponent’s check bone area, palm up (toward 12:00V), while simultaneously converting your left parrying hand into a left grab to the opponent’s right arm, palm down (toward 6:00V).
Result
The opponent’s head and upper body should be thrust backward (toward 12:30H), but be prevented from moving very far, by the grab to their arm. Also, they should begin to attempt to cover their face area with their left hand, but their right hand is prevented from moving, by the grab to their right arm.
Note
The strike should be delivered as to take advantage of the forward momentum of the foot maneuver (confluence of forces), and possibly any residual forward momentum of the opponent, from the initial attacking punch (opposing forces).
2a)
Retract your right arm (toward 6:00H) (toward 7:30V) to a right chambered position, palm up (toward 12:00V), while simultaneously (optionally) drawing your right foot toward your left foot (toward 7:00H) into a right transitory 45 degree cat (facing 12:30H), and maintaining your grab to the opponent’s right arm (grabbing check).
Tip
You should either draw your foot back or just shift your weight backward (body english), depending upon your ability and/or comfort in the amount of force you can deliver with the next move.
2b)
Immediately, reverse the shift of your right foot, back to its original position (toward 12:30H), into a right neutral bow (toward 12:30H) with a right inward elbow strike (major), palm down (toward 6:00V), to the opponent’s right rib area (toward 12:00H), while continuing to maintain the grab to the opponent’s right arm (grabbing check).
Tip
If necessary, the grab to the opponent’s right arm could be used to lift their arm to assist in exposing the proper target area on the opponent.
Result
The opponent’s body should be thrust backward (toward 12:00H), but be prevented from moving very far, by the grab to their arm. Also, they may begin to attempt to cover their rib area with their left hand, but their right hand is prevented from moving, by the grab to their right arm.
3)
Drop your height (toward 6:00V) into a right, high wide kneel (facing 12:30H), while retracting your right arm (toward 6:00H) (toward 7:30V), delivering to a right outward back-knuckle strike, palm forward (toward 12:00H) to the back of the opponent’s right knee area (minor), and maintaining your grab to the opponent’s right arm (grabbing check). After striking the opponent, allow your right arm to continue on its trajectory (toward 6:00H) past your body and straightening, palm facing toward your left (toward 9:00H), in preparation for the next move.
Note
The strike should be delivered on the 12:00H-6:00H line and not toward 4:30H. Thus, preventing the opponent from being compelled to rotate (counter clockwise) away from you, with the force of the strike - closing off the line of sight for the next strike.
Result
The opponent’s lower body and right leg should be forced forward (toward 6:00H) and downward (toward 7:30V), but be prevented from moving very far, by the grab to their right arm.
4)
Deliver a right thrusting ridge-hand (toward 12:00H), palm facing to your left (toward 9:00H), to the opponent’s groin area (major), while continuing to maintain the grab to the opponent’s right arm (grabbing check).
Result
The opponent’s lower abdomen should be forced backward (toward 12:00H), while your left hand grab prevents the upper body from moving (opposing forces), compelling the opponent to bend forward (toward 6:00H), at the waist.
5)
Retract your right arm (toward 6:00H) to a right vertical blocking position (positioned cover); release the grab to the opponent’s right arm, retracting it (toward 6:30H) to your right solar plexus (positioned cover); and raise your height back to a right neutral bow (toward 12:30H). Immediately, cross out and cover (toward 7:30H).
Result
The opponent should collapse - bending at the waist (toward 6:00H) and dropping to their knees (toward 6:00V), while covering their groin area with both their hands.
