Situation
You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V), while the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executes a left step through (toward 6:00H) with a left thrusting, straight punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area, followed immediately by a right, thrusting, straight punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area.
1a)
Step backward (toward 6:00H) with your left foot into a transitory right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) (stable base) with a right, inward (toward 7:30H), downward (toward 7:30V), diagonal parry to outside, top of the opponent's left punching arm, palm down (toward 7:30V).
Result
The opponent’s punch should be parried to your left allowing the punch to pass safely by your left side.
1b)
Timed with the delivery of the opponent’s right punch, draw your right foot back (toward 6:00H) into a right transitory 45 degree cat (facing 12:00H) with a left, inward (toward 4:30H), downward (toward 4:30V), diagonal parry to outside, top of the opponent's right punching arm, palm down (toward 4:30V), while simultaneously retracting (toward 12:00V) your right arm to your upper chest area, palm toward you (toward 6:00H), in preparation for the next move.
Result
The opponent’s punch should be parried to your right allowing the punch to pass safely by your right side.
Note
Both parries should be executed as to create frictional pulls (right – toward 7:30H / toward 7:30V) (left – toward 4:0H / toward 4:30V), helping to disrupt and destabilize the opponent’s balance.
1c)
Without any loss of motion, deliver a right, thrusting, front kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s groin area (major), followed immediately by the planting (toward 6:00V) of your right foot forward (toward 12:00H), into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00H), with a right, thrusting vertical, back-knuckle thrust (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s bridge of nose (major), while simultaneously retracting (toward 12:00V) your left hand to your lower chest area (positional cover), palm forward (toward 12:00H).
Note
The rotation (counter clockwise H) into the right neutral bow should be used to help enhance the effectiveness of the vertical back-knuckle strike.
Result
The opponent’s lower body should begin to be thrust backward (toward 12:00H), causing the upper body and head to bend forward (toward 6:00H), in reaction to the kick, followed immediately by the halting and reversal (borrowed force) of the opponent’s head and upper body, to be thrust backward (toward 12:00H), in reaction to the vertical back-knuckle strike. The net effect being that the opponent’s stance stays relatively unchanged, or that the opponent’s upper body and head begins to lean backward (toward 12:00H), depending upon the force of the vertical back-knuckle strike.
2)
Left front cross-over (toward 12:00H) into a left front twist (facing 12:00H) with a left, thrusting, downward, diagonal vertical punch (toward 12:00H) (toward 4:00V) to the opponent’s sternum (major), while simultaneously lowering (toward 6:00V) your right arm horizontally across the opponent’s arms (detaining check), using the elbow as the pivot point, palm down (toward 6:00V).
Note
The above strike should be timed such that the settle into the twist is used to help enhance the gravitational marriage of the punch, while the cross-over is used to enhance the back-up mass of the punch.
Optional
Depending upon the height of the opponent’s arms after the vertical back-knuckle strike, it may be necessary to clear the opponent’s arms downward (toward 6:00V) with your right arm (pressing check) in order to create a line of sight for your left punch. If this is necessary, the settle into the twist should be timed as enhance the effectiveness of your right arm, while also not detracting from the timing of the punch.
Result
The opponent’s body should be thrust backward (toward 12:00H) with both their arms prevented from covering either the face or the chest by your right arm.
3)
Deliver a right upward (toward 1:30V) (toward 12:00H) knee kick to the opponent’s groin area (major), while simultaneously opening your left hand, palm forward (toward 12:00H) (positional cover) and maintaining your other defenses (detaining check).
Result
The opponent’s body should be thrust slightly upward (toward 1:30V) with their lower body being thrust slightly backward (toward 12:00H) with both their arms prevented from covering either the face or the chest by your right arm, while your left hand prevents the opponent’s upper body and head from bending too far forward (toward 6:00V), causing your heads to collide.
4)
Replant your right foot (toward 6:00V) (toward 12:00H) into a right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with a right, thrusting, upward, horizontal forearm, palm facing your (toward 6:00H) to the underside of the opponent’s chin (major), while also maintaining your other defenses (positional cover).
Result
The opponent’s head should be thrust upward (toward 12:00V) and backward (toward 12:00H) and begin to collapse to the ground (toward 6:00V), onto their knees (facing 6:00H).
5)
Cross-out (toward 6:00H) and immediately return (using a rear cross-over) (toward 12:00H), delivering a right, thrusting, back kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s chest area (major).
Result
The opponent’s body should be thrust backward (toward 12:00H), collapsing to the ground, face up (toward 12:00V).
6)
Cross-out and cover (toward 7:30H).
