Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

You are in a right neutral bow (facing 12:00H) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a right step through thrusting side kick (toward 6:00H) to your lower abdomen area.

1)

Push-drag back (toward 6:00H) with a right parrying (positioned cock) block downward (toward 4:30H) (toward 6:00V) to the back of the opponent's right lower leg, while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result

The opponent's kick should be diverted to your right-rear flank (toward 4:30H) (close center line).

2)

Step your left foot forward (toward 12:00H) (gauge) into a transitory left front twist (facing 12:00H) with a right raking inward hammer-fist (optional), palm up (toward 12:00V), to the opponent’s right lower ribcage area  (minor), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Note

The timing of the hammer-fist should coincide with the planting of the opponent’s right foot (toward 4:30H).

Result

The opponent's body should rotate (clockwise H) slightly (body on the 9:00H – 3:00H line), arching slightly forward (toward 4:30H), with the both hands beginning to cover the right rib-cage area.

3)

Without losing any momentum from the previous moves, deliver a right step through thrusting side kick (toward 12:00H) to the inside of the opponent’s left knee (minor), simultaneously allowing your right hand to continue its path of travel to your left side (toward 9:00H), palm up (toward 12:00V), in preparation for the next moves, while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result

The opponent should collapse (toward 6:00V) onto their left knee, facing to your right (toward 3:00H).

4a)

Plant (toward 6:00V) your right foot forward (toward 12:00H) (gauge) into a right neutral bow (toward 12:00H) with a right thrusting outward diagonal back-knuckle (toward 1:30H), palm toward you (toward 7:30H) (toward 9:00V), to the back of the opponent’s lower back of head (mastoid) area (major), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result

The opponent’s head should be forced forward (toward 1:30H) beginning to collapse (toward 6:00V) toward the ground.

4b)

Circle (counter clockwise H) your right hand around (toward 10:30H) in front of the opponent’s face to deliver a right outward diagonal (toward 4:30H) (toward 3:00V) heel-palm claw, palm facing you (toward 7:30H) (toward 9:00V) and fingers to your left (toward 10:30H) to the opponent’s face area (major), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Note

The path of travel for the previous two sections should be a horizontal figure 8, hand and elbow on the same line (9:00V – 3:00V), using the right shoulder as the major pivot point, but also employing the right elbow and body.

Result

The opponent’s forward momentum (toward 1:30H) should be almost completely halted, but continuing to collapse (toward 6:00V) (toward 1:30H) to the ground (body on the 1:30H – 7:30H line), face to the right (toward 4:30H).

5)

Retract (toward 7:30H) your right arm to a vertical blocking position (positioned cover), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).  Cross out and cover (toward 7:30H).
