Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

You are in a (passive) normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your hands raised to shoulder height, palms forward (toward 12:00H) (positioned covers) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a two-hand push to your lower abdomen area, right foot forward (toward 6:00H).

1a)

Step back (toward 6:00H) with your left foot into a right transitory 45 degree cat (facing 12:00H) (stable base) with the drop (toward 6:00V) of your hands, palm down (toward 6:00V) in the shape of the crane, to the inside of the opponent’s forearms, creating a wedge (toward 9:00H and 3:00H).  Without any loss of motion, retract (toward 6:00H) of both your hands to chambered positions, palms down (toward 6:00V).

Result

The opponent’s push should be allowed to pass safely past you, creating a double parrying effect.

1b)

Immediately, deliver a thrusting right front kick (toward 12:00H) to the opponent’s groin area (major), while stopping the motion of the left arm at your left side (positioned cover).
Result: The opponent’s forward momentum should be halted; with the lower abdominal area being forced back (toward 12:00H) bending at the waist.

2a)

Continue the motion of your right arm, converting it (counter clockwise V) into a hammering right inside (toward 9:00H) downward diagonal (toward 7:30V) hammer-fist to the opponent’s left jaw hinge (major) with the replanting (toward 12:00H) and settling (toward 6:00V) of your right foot (gauge) (positioned cover) into a right neutral bow (toward 12:00H).

Result

The opponent’s head should be forced to the left (toward 9:00) with the left hand beginning to cover the left face area, but the right hand prevented from doing so by the position of your left hand (positioned check).

2b)

Continue the motion of your right arm (counter clockwise V), delivering a right hammering outside (toward 3:00H) downward diagonal (toward 4:30V) hammer-fist to the opponent’s right jaw hinge (major).

Result

The opponent’s head should be forced to the right (toward 3:00H) with the right hand attempting to cover the right face area, but still prevented from doing so by the position of your left hand (positioned check).

3)

Without any loss of motion, shift (counter clockwise H) into a right fighting horse (toward 12:00H) with a right upward (clockwise V) elbow (toward 12:00V) to the opponent’s chin area (major), while simultaneously shifting (toward 12:00V) your left hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 12:00H).

Optional

You may need to execute a right push-drag forward (toward 12:00H) to close the distance between you and your opponent enough to execute an effective elbow strike.

Result

The opponent’s head should be thrust up (toward 12:00V) and back (toward 12:00H).

4)

Immediately, shift back (clockwise H) into a right neutral bow (toward 12:00H) with a right hammering downward (toward 6:00V) heel-palm claw to the opponent’s face (major), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned covers).

Result

The opponent’s head and body should be forced down (toward 6:00V) and collapse to the ground (toward 6:00V).

5)

Cross out and cover (toward 7:30H).
