Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation:

You are standing naturally, arms hanging at your sides, with the opponent (to your front) executing a right step-through knife thrust.

1)

Step your right foot (toward left rear), up the circle, into a left neutral bow, moving your entire body and limbs from your point of origin to get off the line of attack, accentuating upper body torque. As you step, execute a right outward handsword to the outside of the opponent's right wrist. Immediately after the strike, grab his right wrist with your right hand to complete the capture, simultaneously delivering a left inward horizontal heel-palm strike to the outside of his right elbow, diverting, seizing, controlling, and disarming his weapon.

2)

Deliver a right front snap ball kick to the opponent's groin, keeping your hands controlling his right arm and knife hand.

3)

While planting your right foot forward into a right neutral bow, buckle and check the inside of the opponent's right leg with your right leg. Simultaneously execute a right two-finger inward hook to his eyes, your left hand checking his right arm at or above the elbow.

4)

Immediately hop onto your left foot (toward left) into a left one-legged stance. Circle your right arm counter-clockwise, executing a right outside downward parry, hooking on the outside of his right elbow. As you parry, deliver a left inward horizontal heel-palm strike to the outside of his right shoulder.

Result:

These actions should favorably turn the opponent counter-clockwise for your next movements.

5)

Execute a right knife-edge kick to the outside of the opponent's right knee, maintaining your hands in the same guarding position.

Result:

The opponent should buckle onto his right knee, turning further to feed your next action.

6)

Plant your right foot forward into a right neutral bow between the opponent's legs, placing you behind him. As you plant, execute a right inward horizontal heel-palm claw to his face, your left hand sliding from his shoulder to check his right arm.

Result:

The opponent should be dazed.

7)

While your left hand circles, anchor your right elbow and forearm as a sliding check down his back and arm. Continue circling your left hand clockwise, executing a left inward middle-knuckle strike to the opponent's right mastoid, palm facing you, landing a fraction of a second after your right elbow begins sliding.

Result:

The strike to the mastoid should cause intense pain.

8)

Continue circling your right elbow into a right inward horizontal elbow strike to the opponent's head or another available target, your left hand now checking his shoulders.

Result:

This strike should knock the opponent to the ground.

9)

Right front crossover and cover out twice (toward left).
