A distinct type of scoop kick which is physically distinguishable by performing the maneuver with the toes of the foot pointing upward.

The most common version of this kick employs a pulling (hook) force - but may also employ a pushing (roundhouse) force.

Derivation:

This kick gets its name from its similarity to the front kick in both direction and orientation of the foot (toes pointing upward).
