Back Breaker

This variation is generally considered destructive.

The initial foot maneuvers of the technique are twists not neutral bows. This variation is accomplished by maneuvering the initial stances of the technique (#1a-c) through twist stances, rather than neutral bows. This variation basically comes down to an argument of convenience over design and theme.

Rationale For

The rationale for this variation is that is easier and more natural to transition through a twist stance.

Rationale Against

The rationale against this variation is that a major theme of this form is "out of position" and these maneuvers are part of the implementation of that theme. Altering the stance detracts from this theme and the design of the form.
