Protecting Fans (right side)

1a)

Left step forward (toward front) into a left neutral bow facing forward (toward front) with a left, modified, inward parry (toward front) to lower face height, palm pointing outward (toward right-rear-flank), while simultaneously positioning (toward front) your right open hand at abdomen height to create a positional cover, palm forward (toward front) and fingers pointing upward (toward up).

Clarification:

The inward parry of the previous maneuver (1a) is called modified because it starts with fingers pointing forward (toward front) and ends with fingers pointing upward (toward up).

1b)

Rotate (counter-clockwise horizontally) your upper body into a left, modified, forward bow facing forward (toward front) with the execution a right outward parry (toward front) to lower face height, palm pointing away from you (toward right-front-flank) and fingers pointing upward (toward up), simultaneously with the retraction (toward lower-left-rear-flank) of your left open hand to a left semi-chambered position at lower-left chest height, palm pointing upward (toward up) and fingers pointing to the right (toward right-front-flank), in preparation for the next move.

Elaboration:

The outward parry of the previous maneuver (1b) should pass on the outside (toward front) of the left arm and be timed to conclude with the completion of the rotation (counter-clockwise horizontally) of the upper body and the retraction of the left hand, which should maintain a direct line of sight (toward right-front-flank) and orientation for the next maneuver.

Clarification:

The forward bow of the previous maneuver (1b) is called modified because the feet are oriented as a neutral bow, but the upper body is oriented as a forward bow.

Visualization:

The pattern of the arms for the previous maneuvers (1a-1b) should approximate a horizontally oriented figure 8 pattern, laying on its side, vertically in front of and parallel to the body, with the center of the figure 8 on your (vertical) center-line.

1c)

Immediately, redirect your attention 45-degrees (clockwise horizontally) to your right (toward right-front-flank) as you convert your right parry into a simulated right grab, palm pointing away from you (toward right-rear-flank) followed immediately with the retraction (toward lower-left-rear-flank) of your right hand to your lower-right hip area (almost a low, inverted chambered position), palm pointing downward (toward down) and knuckles pointing forward (toward right-front-flank), simultaneously with a right, thrusting, front (ball) kick to groin height, bottom of foot pointing downward (toward down) and ball of foot pointing forward (toward right-front-flank); and also in-sync with a left, thrusting, 4-finger poke (toward upper-right-front-flank) to eye height, palm pointing downward (toward down) and finger pointing forward (toward right-front-flank).

2)

Redirect your attention 45-degrees (counter-clockwise horizontally) to your left (toward front) as you plant your right foot (toward down) onto the starting line (left - right) into a horse stance facing forward (toward front), while simultaneously retracting your left hand (toward lower-left-rear-flank) to a left chambered position, hand open and palm pointing upward (toward up); with a right, thrusting, inward elbow (toward upper-front) to face height, palm pointing downward (toward down).
