This section of the guide is designed to be used in conjunction with the "Form Idealized Execution - Written" section of this chapter, giving the visual perspective of the base "standard" execution of Form Four. Each visual image is structured to give a snapshot in time that directly corresponds to that written illustration.
All images within this section will be presented from four (4) distinct angles: front, (right) side, back, and top. Preceding these images, a 2D graphical representation of the Directional Zone Principle will be presented to help give a clear visualization of direction. Where "front" always represents the starting direction of the form. Contained within this graphic is a shaded "wedge zone" to provide attention point context in relation to the start of the form, while the graphical representation of the feet provides the same for stance. Finally, at the bottom of each image set there is a shortened description of the maneuver being performed. This is designed as an adjunct to both the graphical and written illustrations.
The graphical illustrations rely heavily upon the Directional Zone Principle to provide an understanding of directionality. If one is unfamiliar with this principle and needs further clarification, it is described in its entirety within the book "Long Form Three - Appendix D - Directional Zone Principle" of this series.
As stated elsewhere, variations and optional maneuvers that may be cited in the written illustration will not be presented here. In other words, any variations or optional maneuvers within the form will be purposely omitted from this section. This section will deliberately depict only the base "standard" execution of the form. Any further discussions, descriptions, and/or illustrations of these maneuvers will be presented in the "Variations" chapter of this book.
