Flashing Wings (right side)

Explanation:

The following maneuver (1a) is considered a transitional sequence and therefore technically not part really of the technique. But in contrast, it may also be considered the set-up (or initial maneuver sequence) for this technique.

1a)

Direct your attention 180-degrees (clockwise horizontally) to your right (toward front) as you shift (clockwise horizontally) your stance into a right front twist facing forward (toward front) with a right, thrusting, upward block (toward up), knuckles pointing to your left (toward upper-left-front-flank), simultaneously with the repositioning of your left arm to a left chambered position, palm up (toward up).

1b)

Left step-through forward (toward front) into a left neutral bow facing forward (toward front), as you reorient your right arm into a right extended-outward blocking position (toward right-flank) at shoulder height, palm pointing forward (toward front), simultaneously with the execution of a left, thrusting, inward, outside forearm (toward right-front-flank) to shoulder height, palm pointing diagonally-backward (toward right-rear-flank).

Elaboration:

In the prior maneuver (1a), the right arm should start in front of the body (toward front), but conclude to the right (toward right-flank), in front of the right shoulder area as the foot maneuver progresses. In other words, the right arm should maintain a relatively fixed spatial depth (but not height nor width) as the body and left arm progress through the maneuver.

Variation:

At the end of the previous maneuver (1b), you may allow the right hand to rotate (clockwise horizontally) to the right, palm pointing to the right (toward right-flank), until it simulates a grabbing position (at the same height as the ideal execution). Secondarily, you may also open and close the same hand throughout the execution of the maneuver to more accurately simulate a grab. If this variation is chosen, the closing of the right hand should be timed to compliment the focus point of the left forearm strike, simulating a grab which backs-up the simulated elbow break of a visualized opponent.

2)

Push-drag forward (toward front) and shift (counter-clockwise horizontally) into a left close-kneel facing forward (toward front) with a right, thrusting, inward elbow (toward front) to rib height, palm pointing downward (toward down), as you simultaneously convert your left hand to a left positional cover at ear height, palm pointing to your right (toward right-flank) and fingers pointing upward and diagonally-backward (toward upper-rear).

Elaboration:

Similar to the prior maneuver (1b), the left hand in the previous maneuver (2) should maintain its same relative spatial positioning (not orientation) as it converts (hand opens and is pivot point) to a positional cover, with the rest of body moving toward it.

3a)

Without any loss of momentum, allow your right arm to unbend toward your left (toward left-front-flank) at lower rib height, while simultaneously maintaining the position of your left covering hand.

Variation:

The previous maneuver (3a) may be accompanied with a further shift (counter-clockwise horizontally) of only the upper body into a left, modified, close-kneel (or modified twist stance).

Visualization:

At the end of the previous maneuver (3a), direct line of sight for the elbow's next target (3b) should not be lost - whether the above variation is chosen or not.

3b)

Redirect your attention 135-degrees (clockwise horizontally) to your right (toward right-rear-flank) as you reverse the direction (now toward your right) of your right arm (toward right-rear-flank) to deliver a right, thrusting, outward and diagonally-upward, elbow (toward upper-right-rear-flank) to lower shoulder height, palm pointing diagonally-downward (toward lower-rear), with the shift (clockwise horizontally) into a right offset fighting horse facing forward (toward right-rear-flank), while simultaneously maintaining the same relative spatial position of your left checking hand throughout the maneuver (which should now be relatively in front our your left facial area).

Clarification:

The horse of the previous maneuver (3b) is called offset because the feet are oriented as a horse, but are offset (toe-heel alignment) as a neutral bow.

Variation:

Simultaneous with the previous maneuver (3b), you may execute a left, outward and diagonally-upward, claw (toward upper-left-flank) to face height, palm pointing to your right (toward right-front-flank) and fingers pointing diagonally-downward (toward right-lower-rear-flank). Regardless of whether this variation is chosen or not, your left hand should end up in a similar (but not exact) spatial orientation and positioning after the maneuver execution, due to the fact that this strike would only travel a short distance.

4)

Without any loss of momentum, allow your right arm to unbend to your right (toward right-rear-flank), executing a right, thrusting, outward and diagonally-upward, hand-sword (toward upper-rear) to lower head height, palm pointing diagonally-downward (toward lower-rear) and fingers pointing diagonally-upward (toward upper-right-rear-flank), while simultaneously maintaining the positioning of your left hand, in preparation for the next maneuver.

Variation:

The previous maneuver (4) may be accompanied with a further rotation (clockwise horizontally) of the upper body into a right, modified, offset, fighting horse, thus smoothing out any coarseness of the transition into the next maneuver. This horse is called modified because the over-rotation of the upper body would now be oriented more similar to a neutral bow than a horse.

5)

Pull-drag backward (toward rear), rotate (clockwise horizontally), and drop (toward down) into a left, reverse, close-kneel facing forward (toward rear) with the execution of a left, hammering, inward and diagonally-downward, hand-sword (toward lower-rear) to chest height, palm pointing upward (toward upper-rear) and fingers pointing to your left (toward right-flank), while simultaneously lowering (toward lower-left-flank) and converting your right hand to a positional cover at left rib height, palm pointing to your left (toward right-flank) and fingers pointing upward (toward up), in preparation for the next maneuver.

6)

Push-drag forward (toward front), rotate (counter-clockwise horizontally), and rise (toward up) into a left close-kneel facing forward (toward front) with the execution of a right, thrusting, inward and diagonally-upward, hand-sword (toward upper-front) to shoulder height, palm pointing upward (toward upper-rear [as much as possible]) and fingers pointing to your right (toward right-flank), ending in front of (toward front) your right shoulder area, while also simultaneously converting your left hand into a positional cover at right chest height, palm pointing to your right (toward right-flank) and fingers pointing upward (toward up).
