In American Kenpo, a kick is commonly referred to as an Exaggerated Step in a teaching context to convey another way to think about and associate the motions of both foot maneuvers and kicks. One purpose of this exercise is to open the student's mind into exploration of possibilities of both basics and to compounding motions in ways that are non-obvious at first. |
