Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation:

You are standing naturally at your left flank with the opponent attacking from your left with a right step-through punch.

1)

Step your left foot (toward left rear) into a horse stance (facing left front). As you step, execute a right outward/left inward parry combination to the outside of the opponent's right punch, right parry to his wrist, left parry to his elbow. Continue the counter-clockwise circle of your right hand and, as you settle into your horse stance, deliver a right hammer-fist, palm up, to the opponent's solar plexus, your left hand remaining at his right elbow as a bracing-angle check.

Result:

The opponent should bend forward at the waist.

2)

Execute a left front crossover (toward right front), sweeping the opponent's right leg in the process. Your left hand completes its capture of his right arm, grabbing his wrist and pulling in coordination with your sweep.

3)

Execute a right spinning stiff-leg sweep of the opponent's right leg: from your right rear twist stance, pivot clockwise into a transitional right front rotating twist stance, delivering a right outward back-knuckle strike to his right kidney. Without loss of momentum, convert your rotational force into linear force, stepping your right foot back (toward right) into a left forward bow (facing left), your right leg buckling the back of his right leg, calf to calf, your left hand still checking his right arm.

4)

With the opponent falling toward the ground, execute a right uppercut punch to his head, push-dragging forward if necessary, your left hand still actively checking his right arm.

5)

With the opponent now sitting on the ground, execute a right front thrusting ball kick to his chin or other available opening.

6)

From the contact point of your front kick, execute a right front crossover and cover out twice (toward right rear).
