Additional Information

Created from a similar technique called the inward defense, which placed the kick as the final strike, instead of the handsword.  But, it was found that the novice practitioner had a tendency to withdraw his body weight after the handsword, breaking a principle of motion.  Therefore, the technique was rearranged to place the handsword last.  Thus it's name.

The opening defense for this technique is one of the Master Key Moves of the kenpo system.
