Situation |
You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V), while the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executes a left step through (toward 6:00H) with a left straight thrust punch (toward 6:00H) to your face area. |
1) |
Step forward (toward 1:00H) with your right foot into a transitory right forward bow (toward 12:00H) (stable base while simultaneously delivering a right inward parrying block (toward 7:30H) to the outside of the opponent’s left elbow (close the centerline). Immediately replace your right blocking arm with a left vertical outward parrying block (counter clockwise V) (toward 7:30H), palm open (margin for error) and toward you (toward 4:30H), to the outside of the opponent’s left elbow, while continuing the rotation of your right arm (counter clockwise V) (until 9:00V), in preparation for the next move (positioned cock). Without any loss of motion from the previous moves, execute a right outward thrusting back-knuckle (major) (toward 12:00H) (cut the circle) to the opponent’s left inner rib area, while simultaneously settling into a right neutral bow (toward |
Note |
Your right foot should end up on the outside of the opponent’s left foot (positioned cover), but not beyond the opponent’s left heel. |
Result |
The opponent’s upper body should begin to bend forward and toward you (toward 4:30H), while the left arm attempts to cover the left rib area. |
2a) |
Circle (counter clockwise V) your right open hand downward (ending toward 6:00V), palm down (toward 6:00V) and fingers to your left (toward 7:30H), on top of the opponent’s left upper arm, pinning it to the opponent’s body (pinning/pressing check), while maintaining your other defenses. |
Note |
The downward press to the opponent’s arm should create a “line of sight” for your left hand, by clearing the opponent’s left arm, and potentially aid in compelling your opponent’s upper body to bend slightly forward (toward 4:30H) – accentuating the next move (borrowed force). |
Optional |
At any point, you may want to grab any available clothing with your right hand, to aid in the downward press, and control of your opponent. |
2b) |
Using the forward bend of the opponent (borrowed force), shift (clockwise H) into a forward bow (toward 12:00H) with a thrusting, straight, thrusting heel-palm, fingers to your left (toward 9:00V) to the opponent’s left side jaw (minor), while continuing the downward press with your right hand (burdening check). |
Result |
The opponent’s head should be thrust backward (toward 12:00H), but their body should be prevented from moving by your right hand. |
3a) |
Rotate your left hand (counter clockwise V), palm up (toward 12:00V), allowing your four fingers to “hook” the right side of the opponent’s jaw. Immediately step to your right (toward 4:30H) with your left foot into a right forward bow (toward 10:30H) with the pull (toward 4:30H) of the opponent’s head toward you, while simultaneously pushing (toward 1:30H) the opponent’s left shoulder away from you. Without any loss of motion, lower (anchor) (toward 6:00V) your left elbow onto the opponent’s left back and shoulder area, using the opponent’s body as a fulcrum to create a neck lock. |
Note |
At this point the opponent’s head should be facing toward 6:00H, while the neck lock is applied primarily with your left arm by using it as a vertical fulcrum – pushing with your left elbow and pulling with your left hand. |
3b) |
While maintaining the neck lock to your opponent, deliver a right, hammering, downward hand-sword (toward 6:00V), palm to your left (toward 5:00H), to the opponent’s left clavicle (minor), while simultaneously shifting (counter clockwise H) and settling into a right neutral bow (toward 10:30H). |
Note |
The hand-sword is delivered using a counter-clockwise (V) rotation of your right arm, using the shoulder as the primary pivot point, from in back of the opponent, over and down to the front of the opponent. |
Tip |
In order to get better penetration for the hand-sword, bend your right wrist downward (toward 4:30V), allowing your wrist to bend around the opponent’s shoulder and clavicle area, creating more surface area contact for the strike. |
Result |
The opponent’s left arm should become unusable while their body is prevented from moving by the neck lock. |
4a) |
Release the “hook” to the opponent’s jaw as you slide and rotate (clockwise V) your left arm and hand down (toward 6:00V) horizontally across the opponent’s upper back (pressing, cross body check), palm down (toward 6:00V). |
Note |
This move should allow the opponent’s head to rotate (clockwise H), exposing their face for the next move. |
4b) |
Immediately, rotate (counter clockwise V) your right hand, palm down (toward 5:00V), on top of the opponent’s face, and without any loss of motion, execute a right upward, diagonal (toward 2:00V) claw to the opponent’s face (minor) simultaneously with a right scoop kick (toward 1:30V) to the opponent’s groin (minor). Complete the above moves by planting your right foot backward (toward 4:30H) into a left neutral bow (toward 10:30H) and simultaneously cocking your right arm to a right chambered position, palm up (toward 12:00V), while also maintaining the pressing, cross body check with your left arm. |
Result |
The opponent’s upper body should forced backward (toward 4:30H), but prevented from moving by the press of your left arm. |
Note |
Your left arm should be used to control the orientation of your opponent’s body, preparing it for the next move. |
5) |
Shift (counter clockwise H) into a left forward bow (toward 10:30H) with a snapping, right, straight punch to the opponent’s left kidney area (minor), while maintaining your left, pressing, cross body check. |
6) |
Immediately, shift back (clockwise H) into a left neutral bow (toward 10:30H) with the retraction of your right hand to your left solar plexus (positioned check), palm forward (toward 10:30H), while also maintaining the left, pressing, cross body check. Cross out and cover (toward 4:30). |
Result |
The opponent should continue to collapse to the floor (toward 6:00V). |
