Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with your left arm at your side (toward 6:00V) with the opponent (at 2:00H) (facing 8:00H) beginning to apply a vertical two-finger lock to your right hand (applied to the middle and index fingers), palm away from you (toward 2:00H).

1)

Step your right foot to your right (toward 1:30H) into a transitory right neutral bow (toward 1:30H) (stable base) with the slight raise (toward 12:00V) of your right hand, to approximately shoulder height, with the circling (counter clockwise V) of your right elbow (toward 2:00H) (using your fingers as the pivot point) to and against the opponent’s left elbow (pressing check) (to relieve the pressure of the lock), in preparation for the next move.  Immediately, shift (counter clockwise H) into a right reverse bow (toward 1:30H) with a thrusting left back elbow (toward 2:00H) to the opponent’s left lower ribcage area (major).

Result

The opponent’s lock should be loosened considerably as the right hand begins to cover the left ribcage area. The opponent’s left hand may begin to try to cover the left ribcage area also, but the press of your left elbow should hinder the path of travel.

2)

Immediately, raise your left hand (toward 10:30V) to grab the opponent’s left wrist, palm away from you (toward 10:00H), with the shift (clockwise H) and settle (toward 6:00V) into a right fighting horse (toward 1:30H) as you simultaneously deliver a right thrusting outward (toward 2:00H) downward (toward 4:30V) diagonal elbow strike, palm facing you (toward 4:30H), to the opponent’s sternum area (major).

Note

The grab with your left hand should also slightly pull (toward 7:30H) (toward 8:00V) the opponent’s left arm and elbow, locking it across your upper chest area (third hand) such that the pull accentuates the right outward elbow strike (opposing forces).

Result

The opponent’s body should be thrust back (toward 1:30H) and down (toward 4:30V), but prevented from moving very much by the lock and pin of the left elbow across your chest.

3)

Retract (toward 10:30V) (toward 4:30H) your right arm to a vertical blocking position (positioned cover) with the release of the grab to the opponent’s wrist, shifting (toward 1:30H) your left hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 1:30H).  Immediately, cross out and cover (toward 7:30H).

Result

The opponent should collapse to the ground (toward 6:00V), face up (toward 12:00V).
