Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

You are in a (passive) normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your hands raised to shoulder height, palms forward (toward 12:00H) (positioned covers) with the opponent (at 12:00H) (facing 6:00H) executing a right straight step through thrust kick (toward 6:00H) to your lower abdomen area.

1)

Step back with your left foot (toward 7:30H) into a right neutral bow (toward 1:30H) (stable base) with a right hammering outside-downward block (toward 3:00H) (counter clockwise V) to the outside of the opponent's right kicking leg, while raising your left open hand to your right solar plexus (positioned cover), palm forward (toward 1:30H).

Result

The opponent's right leg should be deflected (toward 3:00H), and begin to plant (toward 4:30H).

2)

Immediately, raise (toward 12:00V) (clockwise V) your right arm to a vertical blocking position (positioned cover) with a left front scoop kick (toward 1:30H), to the opponent's groin area (minor), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result

The opponent's body should be thrust upward (toward 12:00V) and back (toward 7:30H), while bending forward (toward 1:30H) at the waist, with both hands attempting to cover the groin area.

3)

Rotate your body (counter clockwise H) and plant your left foot forward (toward 1:30H) into a left front twist (toward 1:30H) (distance gauge).  Immediately, deliver a right downward diagonal (toward 4:30V) stomping side kick (toward 1:30H) to the back of the opponent’s left knee (major), while maintaining your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result

The opponent's left knee should be force to the ground (toward 1:30H).

4)

Cross out and cover (toward 7:30H).
