Ideal Execution

Written Illustration:

Situation

You are in a normal stance (facing 12:00H) with both of your arms at your side (toward 6:00V) with the opponent (at 9:00H) (facing 3:00H) executing a right overhead club attack (toward 3:00H), with the right leg forward (toward 3:00H), to your head.

1)

Step, with your right foot, to your right (toward 2:00H) (slipping) into a right reverse neutral bow (facing 9:00H), with a left inward parry (toward 9:00 H) - to the outside (toward 12:00H) of the opponent's left arm, while simultaneously delivering a right rising (toward 12:00H), thrusting heel-palm to the underside (obsure zone) of the opponent's chin (major), palm up (toward 12:00V).

Note

The parry is primarily used to check the opponent's arm, rather than divert its path of travel.

Result

The opponent's head should be thrust upward (toward 12:00V) and backward (toward 12:00H), forcing the opponent to bend slightly backward (toward 12:00H), exposing their upper abdomen.

2)

Step your left foot to your right (toward 9:00H) into a left close kneel (facing 9:00H) with a right anchoring elbow (toward 1:00H) (toward 10:30V) to the opponent's strenum (major), while simultaneously maintaining your other defenses (positioned check).

Note

The elbow strike should be delivered using the hand as the pivot point, and penetrate on an upward (toward 10:30V) angle, not a downward (toward 7:30V) angle, if possible.

Result

The opponent should begin to bend forward (toward 6:00H), at the waist, while simultaneously beginning to position their left hand to cover their mid-section.

3)

Immediately, shift (clockwise H) into a horse stance (facing 9:00H) with a right hammering, underhanded heel-palm (toward 12:00H) to the opponent's groin area (major), palm facing you (toward 12:00H), while simultaneously maintaining your other defenses (positioned check).

Result

The opponent should bend further forward (toward 6:00H), at the waist.

4a)

Taking advantage of the opponent's bend forward, immediately step your right foot backward (toward 12:00H) into a left neutral bow (facing 6:00H) with  the lift of the opponent's right leg backward (toward 12:00H) and upward (toward 12:00V) - to about your hip height, while simultaneously allowing your right hand to slide, palm up (toward 12:00V), down (toward 12:00H) the underside (toward 6:00V) of the opponent's right leg, ending at the knee area. Simutaneously with the above movements, allow your left hand to slide, palm down (toward 6:00V) down the topside (toward 12:00V) of your opponent's body (sliiding check), ending at the opponent's right hip area (pressing check).

Result

The final position should have the opponent fully bent horizontal (toward 6:00H) (toward 6:00V) with both their hands on the floor, and their right leg pressed (third hand) against your right hip, while your left hand presses downward (toward 6:00V)  on their right hip, forcing the them to face downward (toward 6:00V) and not allowed to turn (counter clockwise V) to face towards you.

Note

The downward pressure of your left hand can be regulated to continue to force the opponent to keep both hands on the floor, if needed.

4b)

Deliver a left front scoop kick (toward 12:00V) (toward 12:00H) to the opponent's groin area (minor), re-planting your left foot forward (toward 12:00H) (gauge) into a left front twist (facing 6:00H), in preparation for the next move, while simultaneously maintaining your other defenses.

Result

The opponent should be prevented from moving significantly by the maintained control (contact manipulation) of both your left and right hands.

4c)

Immediately deliver a right downward, diagonal (toward 7:30V) (toward 11:00H), thrusting side kick to the back of the opponent's right knee (major), while simultaneously releasing the trap to the opponent's right leg - raising both hands (toward 12:00V) to a standard defensive position (positioned covers).

Result

The opponent's left knee should be forced to bend downward (toward 4:30V) (toward 6:00H) to the floor, while the opponent's right leg drops (toward 6:00V) to the ground.

4d)

Without replanting your right foot, cross-out and cover toward 9:00H).
