Situation:

You are in a normal stance (facing forward) with both of your arms at your side (toward down) while the opponent (toward front) facing you (toward rear) executes a right step-thru forward (toward rear) with a right straight thrust punch (toward rear) to your face or upper body area,

1a)

Step back with your right foot (toward rear) into a left neutral bow (stabilize base) facing forward (toward front) with a left thrusting inward block (toward front) to the outside of the opponent's right upper forearm while simultaneously raising your right fist (toward up) to your right waist area, palm up (chamber position) (toward up), in preparation for the next move (positioned cock).

Elaboration:

The block of the previous maneuver (1a) may make contact (contact point) below the opponent's right elbow, but should be allowed to slide up the outside of the opponent's right forearm during delivery to conclude at least at (or above) the opponent's elbow (sliding check).

Result:

The opponent's punch should be diverted (toward right rear flank) allowing the punch to safely pass by you and closing the opponent's (vertical) center-line.

1b)

Shift forward (counter-clockwise horizontally) into a left forward bow facing forward (toward front) with a right straight thrusting punch (toward front) to the opponent's right ribs (major), while maintaining the vertical blocking position of your left arm (positioned check).

Elaboration:

The angle and method of the strike from the previous maneuver (1b) should be executed such that the contact after the punch is continued until the forward momentum becomes a push (pushing punch) which forces the opponent's body to rotate (clockwise horizontally) and therefore reopens the opponent's (vertical) center-line.

Result:

The opponent's forward momentum should be halted and reversed (toward front) with upper body being forced to rotate (clockwise horizontally) until facing forward (toward rear), while also causing their upper torso and head to bend forward (toward rear) and their arms to begin to bend to cover their right ribs area.

2)

Open and rotate your right hand (clockwise vertically), palm up (toward up), as you retract your right arm (bending at the elbow) (toward right rear flak) along the outside and on top of the opponent's right arm (sliding check), until reaching the opponent’s wrist; at which point, rotate your open hand (counter clockwise vertically), to a palm down position (toward down), and grab the opponent's right arm, at the wrist.  Simultaneously with the previous motions, drop (toward down) and open your left hand to your right solar plexus area (positioned check), palm pointing forward (toward front).

Elaboration:

The backward momentum of the opponent from the previous maneuvr (2) should be used to enhance the following maneuver (3) (borrowed force).

Result:

The backward momentum of the opponent's body should be halted causing the opponent's upper torso and head to bend even further (toward rear).

3)

Utilizing your right hand grab, pull the opponent's arm backward, down, and to your right (toward lower right rear flank) with the delivery of a modified right thrusting front kick (toward front) to the opponent's groin area (minor) (opposing forces).

Clarification:

The kick of the previous maneuver (3) is called modified because it may be delivered as a semi-front / semi-roundhouse kick as needed to fit the target.

Result:

The opponent's upper torso should remain bent and the opponent should begin to collapse forward and to your right (toward lower right rear flank).

4a)

Replant (toward down) your right foot into a right neutral bow facing forward (toward front) as your release the grab on the opponent's right wrist and reposition it as needed into a right vertical blocking position (positioned cover), while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).

Elaboration:

The path taken by the replanting of your right foot from the previous maneuver (4a) should be one which continually maintains contact on the inside of the opponent's right leg until its conclusion; at which point it becomes a positioned check (and potential buckle) against the opponent's leg.

Option:

The grab to the opponent's right arm of the prior maneuver (2) may be maintained as long as it is deemed necessary.

Clarification:

The pressure against the opponent's right leg from the previous maneuver (4a) can be as slight as a light pressing check or heavy enough as to create a buckle to the opponent's right leg at the knee, depending upon desired outcome. If a buckle is desired, then the settle into the stance should be used to create this effect.

Result:

The position of your right knee from your neutral bow stance may cause the opponent's right leg to bend and buckle inward (toward lower right front flank) while the opponent’s upper torso continues to remain bent (toward lower right rear flank).

4b)

Rotate (clockwise horizontally) into a right close kneel facing forward (toward front) with a left uppercut punch (toward upper front) to the opponent's right floating ribs or kidney area (major), while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result:

The opponent's body should be forced backward (toward front) and collapse to the ground, kneeling and facing forward (toward right front flank).

5)

Retract your left arm (as needed) to a covering position while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).
