Situation:

You are in a passive stance (facing forward) with both of your arms in front of your body at chest level (toward up) while the opponent (toward front) facing you (toward rear) begins to apply a direct two-hand push (toward rear) to your chest area.

1a)

Step back (toward rear) with your left foot into a right neutral bow facing forward (toward front) (stabilize your base) with the delivery of a right downward pressing check on top of the opponent's forearms, while simultaneously raising (toward up) your left open hand to your right solar plexus area, palm pointing forward (toward front) as a positional cover.

Elaboration:

Your right arm of the previous maneuver (1a) should have the right elbow as the primary pivot point, rotating (counter-clockwise vertically) until on a left to right flank line) such that contact can be made with both of your arms with both of the opponent's arms.

Clarification:

The step backward (toward rear) of the previous maneuver (1a) is executed in such a manner as to attempt to match the distance of the pushing action, thus negating the need to redirect the push to the side.

Result:

The opponent's push should be averted through the change of distance of your foot maneuver and controlled with the downward pressing check.

1b)

Immediately shift forward (clockwise horizontally) into a right forward bow (brace angle) with the executing of a left vertical thrust punch to the opponent's sternum area (toward front) (major), while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).

Clarification:

The punch of the previous maneuver (1b) should be timed with the drop of your right arm from the prior maneuver (1a) such that the strike passes over the right arm to the target.

Elaboration:

The punch of the previous maneuver (1b) should rely upon fitting to better penetrate the striking surface of the target.

Result:

The opponent's forward momentum should be halted and your right arm should prevent the opponent's arms from moving in any meaningful way.

2)

Shift backward (toward rear) (counter-clockwise horizontally) into a right neutral bow facing forward (toward front) with the delivery of a right outward back-knuckle (toward front) to the opponent's right temple area (major), while simultaneously dropping (toward lower rear) and opening your left hand (margin for error) on top of the opponent's arms creating a pressing check) and thus replacing your right arm.

Result:

The opponent’s head should be forced diagonally backward (toward right front flank) while your left hand now prevents the opponent’s arms from moving in any meaningful way.

3)

Retract right arm (as needed) to a covering position while continuing to maintain your other defenses (positioned cover).

Result:

The opponent should potentially collapse to the ground.
